    When things go wrong with your credit, it is easy to give up and not bother with anything other than cash. This is a mistake, I can tell you from experience.

    It is better to immediately begin building up your credit again. It does take time but is worth it.  Your post provides some great options to start that process.

    • No doubt that cash is the way to go when you run into credit problems.  But I think your advice is spot on.

      Build your credit back up, then reengage in some level of credit so that you have some options when unexpected expenses arise.

      When it comes time to look for new credit card options, some of the instantly approved credit card programs are a great place to start your search.

      As always, never over do it and keep your utilization rates under 30%.  It will help keep your credit score in healthy territory.

  2. Speaking from experience, everyone needs access to credit. 

    Most people simply cannot function with just cash these days. Sometimes crap happens in life when we still have a week before our next paycheck.

    Having to pinch pennies or to go hungry for a few days in order to pay for an unexpected car repair is no way to live at all…..for anyone.

    It’s amazing that the market has found a way to help those with bad credit to improve their credit through secured cards, and to bring up their credit score, where they can apply for unsecured credit once again.
